TALKIN' OZZIE LINGO
For the BBetween Journal, the whole group came up with an idea to draw funny popular Australian sayings that are used in everyday life. Whether we want to admit it or not, at some point we have all probably used sayings such as “stone the crows”, “bloody sheep shagger”, “as useless as tits on a bull” or “built like a shit brickhouse”. Australia has a...
FUN FACTS ABOUT AUSTRALIA
Below is a list of fun and quirky facts about our one and only Australia:
The UK fits into Australia thirty-three and a third times.
The platypus is only found in Australia.

WIP MEETING #5
At the moment, everything is running smoothly within the BBetween camp. Meetings are held every Thursday (work in progress day) within the engine rooms where the project managers talk to each group to discuss how the groups are progressing and to make sure everyone is on top of their projects. Everybody is taking an active role in the development of the spreads for the journal, which is great...
MOCK-UP SPREADS
This mornings BBetween class was spent putting the mocked-up spreads all around the classroom wall so everyone could see the flow through all the pages as opposed to viewing the spreads individually on the computer. This was a good exercise because it allowed everyone to walk around the classroom and comment on the spreads (what was working and what needed improvement). Andrew Barnum and Leanne...
THE 7 THEMED CATEGORIES
For the BBetween Journal, we’ve categorised the content into seven themed sections. Each section has a different mood and personality attached to it. The contributors involved in the magazine will be placed into one of the categories depending on what they’re suited to best. This is dependent on the relation to their topic/focus (i.e. social, lifestyle, design, content, values, moods,...

PUBLIC HOLIDAY MEETING
Yep, just as the title suggests, we spent yet another day working on the BBetween Journal. The reason we all met on a public holiday was because from Friday to Tuesday was the Easter long weekend and many people were away for Easter which was a bit of an issue because tomorrow was to be a draft “show-and-tell” of what we have done so far with the journal. The weekend was spent...
WIP Meeting #2
Today was the second WIP meeting for BBetween. It was a tad chaotic because we were figuring out how we could all communicate and/or meet up before Wednesday’s class next week as we had a five day Easter long weekend and most of us were going to be away. It was a good day. The visualisation team worked hard to get an overall concept happening so the engine room could begin finding concepts...
Meeting At Second Road
On the 30th of March, the whole BBetween team headed down to Chatswood after a long day of studying to take part in an after-school meeting with Alex, a visualizer at Second Road. Second Road for those of you who don’t know is a management consulting firm. They use design thinking and conversation to co-design strategies with their clients. They get down into the nitty-gritty of the problem,...
MEET THE DESIGNERS
Take a gander at these pretty faces. We’re the brains behind this whole project with help from our massively cool lecturers Kuen Kam, Louise “Lulu” Ruttley and our project manager Leanne Rule. The team consists of different sections and each works harmoniously with one another to ensure that the job gets done; like a machine. The team is divided into admin personnel,...

BBETWEEN HAS ARRIVED - in summary the journey
Bbetween exists to inspire and inform our industry, the design community and the people who engage with us. It seeks to highlight applied education in it’s true form and invites commentary from many aspects of the community.
This year the theme ‘Demonstrating the Value of Design (thinking)’ was born out of the desire for us to speak to an audience broader than just our own design community. We...

Workshop Review
Thank you to the team at Second Road (www.secondroad.com.au) for providing us with a comfortable creative environment to workshop our third edition of bbetween. We moved from a very structured approach of tackling the design...
